Privacy

This policy is short because there is little to explain: heatpeek.com collects nothing beyond what running a server entails.

Controller

Principle

This site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads no resources from third parties. Fonts, stylesheets and images come from this server. There are no forms, no accounts and no embedded content from other providers.

Server logs

The host of this site, ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, logs requests automatically: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system.

These records serve the secure operation of the server (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and are not combined with other data. Retention follows the host's own terms; a data processing agreement is in place.

Download counter

Downloads of the app are counted. Your IP address is not stored for this: it is turned into a checksum with a secret key that changes every day. That checksum is kept for at most six hours and only so that a repeated click is not counted twice; the key is never kept beside it.

What remains are daily totals with nothing personal in them. There are no cookies, no recognition beyond the day, and nothing is passed on. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in knowing how often the software is downloaded (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

If you write to me, I process what you send in order to answer (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Messages are deleted once their purpose has been served and no retention duty applies.

The HeatPeek app

HeatPeek itself transmits nothing. The app contacts no server; readings, pictures and recordings stay on your Mac. The optional MJPEG stream is reachable on your own machine (localhost) only.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Use the address above.
